In a May 1, 2025, press release (1), the human capital management company Würk announced it had partnered with the consulting firm ValeU Group, Inc. ValeU Group helps businesses by reducing costs, enhancing savings, and finding hidden assets, the press release explains, while Würk assists with payroll management, human resources, guidance on 280E tax law, and more. With a combined 25 years of experience, the new collaboration aims to increase savings and sustainable growth for cannabis businesses.
As listed in the press release, ValeU utilizes tools for unemployment insurance (UI) claims management, UI tax management, separation notice compliance, work opportunity tax credits, and unclaimed property recovery.
"For years, we've helped our clients find success in the legal cannabis industry, and we're excited to expand our suite of services and resources through our partnership with ValeU Group," stated Deborah Saneman, CEO of Würk, in the press release. "Together, we're empowering cannabis businesses by offering proven strategies to maximize profitability and reduce costs in ways they may not have realized were possible."
With a team of 80 industry specialists, ValeU has assisted Fortune 500 companies as well as regional companies.
Würk has previously partnered with other organizations as well. In April 2025, Safe Harbor Financial had announced a strategic partnership with Würk to create a mutual referral program and offer integrated services of workforce management and banking solutions (2). Safe Harbor offers various services to financial institutions that provide banking services for cannabis, hemp, and CBD businesses.
“As recently as 2023, seven in ten cannabis businesses said the ‘lack of access to banking or investment capital’ was their top challenge—and that reality is still holding back innovation and growth,” Saneman had stated. “By partnering with Safe Harbor, we’re able to connect our clients to critical resources they need to thrive. Just as Würk helps simplify people management in a highly regulated space, Safe Harbor streamlines access to reliable financial services. Together, we’re not just solving a pain point—we’re laying the groundwork for long-term stability and expansion across the cannabis sector.”
In March 2025, a partnership with Poseidon Investment Management and with C15 Solutions had been announced (3). The partnership was intended to help cannabis businesses grow and navigate the evolving industry by providing tools for regulatory compliance as well as workforce management.
"Collaboration is essential to achieving and sustaining long-term solutions in our rapidly evolving industry," Poseidon Co-founder and Managing Director Morgan Paxhia had stated in the press release. "C15 Solutions and Würk's partnership reflects our commitment to strengthening the ancillary cannabis network by building connections that fuel industry growth and enhance operational excellence. We look forward to being a teammate to emerging cannabis companies pushing boundaries, fostering innovating, and looking to grow."
