A new scholarship aimed at empowering both current and aspiring cannabis industry professionals has been set up by DaySavers.

Looking to help inspire both current and future professionals in the cannabis industry, DaySavers, “a smoking accessories brand from Custom Cones USA and a leading manufacturer of premium pre-rolled cones, tubes, blunts, and smoking accessories” (1), announced in a recent press release together with the Higher Potential Scholarship Coalition, the creation of the “Higher Potential Scholarship.” The scholarship will provide more than $25,000 in both financial aid and educational resources for students and professionals that express interest in the cannabis industry.
The press release mentioned that the scholarship was “Made possible by a diverse coalition of industry-leading partners—each contributing resources that reflect their expertise in the cannabis space,” (1). DaySavers is hoping to expand industry innovation, cannabis education, and equity through this new initiative. The scholarship will come with benefits that include on-on-one mentorship, access to events within the cannabis industry, financial assistance, as well as tuition-free education and training (1).
“Whether you're working in the industry, pursuing a degree, professional certification, or have aspirations of working in cannabis, the industry needs your passion, voice, and ideas,” said James Valentine, Daysavers’ Communications and Content Marketing Manager (1). “With the Higher Potential Scholarship, we're investing in the dreamers by breaking down barriers and helping the next wave of talent step into their potential.”
According to the press release (1), one applicant will receive a scholarship worth $1,420 that they will be able to put towards their “developmental goals in cannabis.” There will also be four additional winners selected that will be given tickets to attend MJBizCon, and then another four winners will receive two tickets to other cannabis events such as, NECANN, CannaCon, and Champs. The Higher Potential Scholarship is available for applicants 18 years old and up that are passionate about working within the cannabis industry.
