1. Highlights from the May 2025 Healer Webinar on Cannabis Research
On May 21, 2025, Dustin Sulak, an osteopathic general practitioner, founder of Healer, a cannabis education and product resource, presented the latest installment of the monthly webinar series. As Dr. Sulak explained, the webinars review findings from recent scientific studies on cannabis and various conditions and present them in an accessible format for general audiences. This month’s webinar focused on chronic pain, restless leg syndrome, insomnia, effects on driving, and more.
2. CReDO Science Webinar Discusses the Origins and Effects of Cannabis Laws
On March 13, 2025, CReDO Science presented, “History of Cannabis Prohibition and Scheduling,” an hour-long webinar detailing the history of cannabis policies, from historical texts to modern day prohibitions. Ethan Russo, MD, neurologist and medical researcher, explained significant dates, current cannabis scheduling, and the potential for the future.
3. Standards and Innovations in Cannabis and Hemp Beverages: A GMP Collective Webinar
On January 29, 2025, the GMP Collective presented the latest episode of its When Things Go Wrong webinar series: Sip Safely – Elevating Standards for Cannabis and Hemp Beverage Production. This episode featured guest speakers Diana Eberlein, Chair of the Coalition for Adult Beverage Alternatives (CABA), and Ben Larson, CEO of cannabis and hemp infusion technology company Vertosa, and was moderated by Bethany Moore, Director of Content Strategy and Market Growth at the GMP Collective. Topics discussed include market trends, challenges in formulating cannabis beverages, marketing, and infrastructure.
4. From Eczema to Parkinson’s: The Latest Healer Webinar on Recent Cannabis Research
On April 30, 2025, Dr. Sulak presented an analysis on recent research involving cannabis for conditions including chronic pain from hypermobility, eczema, Parkinson’s disease, and inflammatory bowel disease.
5. ALS and the Potential of Cannabis-Based Therapies: Insights from Dr. Ethan Russo
On February 20, 2025, CReDO Science presented, “Update on ALS: Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, Cannabis, and Hope for the Future,” an hour-long webinar in which Dr. Russo discussed ALS symptoms, conventional treatments, and studies on treatments using cannabis components. ALS, he explained, is a terminal degenerative disease affecting upper and lower motor neurons, causing weakness, paralysis, and affecting speech, and swallowing. Even after decades of research, there have been no breakthrough conventional treatments yet.
This webinar covered how cannabis for this neurodegenerative disease could provide better symptom relief and improve quality of life better than conventional treatments. Dr. Russo began the webinar with a literature review of clinical studies involving cannabis for ALS, then discusses randomized clinical control trials and observational studies, and then compares conventional treatment methods with treatments involving cannabinoids and their effects on the symptoms.
