Madeline Colli: Beyond active decontamination, how do microbial analysis and comprehensive management plans contribute to the long-term preservation of cannabis quality?

Carly Bader: Well, decontamination is first and foremost important. Microbial analysis and IPM plans are key to taking a preventative and system based approach to cannabis quality. There are certainly many points of this process that should be taken into consideration. It's not just about testing the final product. It's about routinely monitoring the entire environment of your cultivation. This includes the grow room, your inputs, the material and handling procedures throughout the process. Each of these data points offers valuable insight into where contamination might start and how to stop it before it becomes a bigger issue. This will, in turn, help your decontamination process be efficient and as short as possible, using the will appear system, early detection, targeted interventions and adjustments continuously through SOPs, can help cultivators avoid problems now and ones that may come down the line.
